Note (1) Date of birth is 25 Dec per death certificate, but 27 Dec per marriage
license. Place of birth per marriage license.
Note (2) Census record is inconsistant as to year of immigration
Note (3) Initially enlisted 8 Jul 1885 in Cleveland for 5 years and after several
re-inlestments was discharged 15 Aug 1899 in Puerto Rico. Several years had been
spent in the American West. Conrad was hospitalized under the authority of the
Surgeon General 31 Dec 1894, admitted to the Army & Navy General Hospital at Hot
Springs, AR.
Note (4) Date of birth per death certificate. Place of Birth confirmed on her marriage
license with Conrad Hallaner.
Note (5) Anna accompanied her sister Eva Blum arriving in New York 16 May 1872 aboard
the Cimbria sailing from Hamberg and LeHavre. The passenger list gives her age
incorrectly as 11 years.
