Note (2) Modern tombstone gives 14 Sep 1821 as the date of death. This is not in agreement with the widow's pension record, nor with the year of his will filing in Prince William. Note (3) Served as a Private in Col. Buford's regiment for an 18 month period. William never served as a commissioned officer as presented on the tombstone. Note (4) Date listed on modern tombstone for William. Note (5) Year of birth is an estimate. Note (6) No actual record found. Note (7) Birth year deduced from the 1860 census. Her parents resided in Fauquier at the time of her birth. Some references state that she was born in Maryland, including the 1860 census, which is incorrect. Note (8) Living with the Sanford F. Dulin family in 1860 Hancock Co. OH census. Note (9) Bondsman: George Dulin. Charles Glasscock certified their ages.
