Event Notes Note (1) The 1870 census gives his DOB as Feb 1827 and that he arrived in 1847 Note (2) Obituary; Youngstown Vindicator; 28 Apr 1909; pg. 4. Note (3) His obituary indicates he arrived when he was age 21, or 1852. The Ulam reference gives June 1852 as an arrival date. A passenger list indicates he may have arrived with his family aboard the Ship Europe at Philadelphia on 17 May 1851. Note (4) Listed as Mary Jane Edwards of Weathersfield. Note (5) 1830 passenger list and 1850 census indiicates she was born in 1829-1830. The burial marker gives 13 Feb 1831 which would be after her immigration which cannot be correct. Note (6) Original burial at Welsh Hill Cemetery. Later moved to Girard by daughter Jennie Joshua. Note (7) Ship Parachute arrived in Philadelphia from Liverpool 9 Jun 1830.. Note (8) Date and place per Obituary. Burial marker also gives 1862 while cemetery records show 1861. Note (9) Death record states that he was b. 1861 in England.
